Every video we create begins with a question: What do you want to change about the world? Underneath any human behavior is a story that attempts to justify that behavior. Our videos are created with the intention of offering an alternative story or narrative about a topic that help people to choose to positively develop within themselves more sustainable, peaceful, and harmonious behaviors. Writing scripts that not only analyze the underlying faulty story but offer an alternative is not easy, but it is necessary. These forums are here to help storytellers create the script for a video, which is necessary to create your idea.
Step 1 - Discuss Your Idea
Once you have finalized your script and/or radio edit, producers may add a landing page for their idea under the “Create” menu. The idea landing page will contain the final written and recorded script. It will also provide a space for producers and editors to collaborate by leaving comments, uploading b-roll suggestions, and brainstorming and voting on the final title of the video. Once approved, the idea will wait until an editor signs up to edit the video before the process kicks off. Then it is time to create your video.
Step 2 - Create Your Idea
Once an editor signs up to edit your video idea, it’s time to work together to complete the video. While editors may offer suggestions for b-roll, the video producers are ultimately responsible for obtaining all the b-roll for the video. Editors and producers will iterate on versions of the video until all concerns are addressed. Check out the videos currently in progress below and give your feedback before it is released. Once the video is finished, it is time to launch your video.
Step 3 - Create Your Video
Once your video has been completed, it is time to prepare it for launch. Producers will create a video landing page under the “Promote” menu that will contain links to more information about the topic as well as all producer, editor, translator, and b-roll credits. Producers may coordinate with Chris to create a Thunderclap campaign to help create a viral launch. The landing page also enables translation specialists to translate the video subtitles into other languages. Once the video is launched, it can continue to be shared by writing stories to promote it.
Step 4 - Launch Your Video
How many times can you share the same video? Maybe a couple, but soon we want to move on to the next one. Every video landing page encourages people to interact with the video by writing their own personal story related to the topic of the video. When they do, the video will be shared along with their personal story on a new web page. All stories related to your video will appear on the landing page, enabling your audience to dive deeper into the topic into real people’s experiences and helping them empathically connect to each other through them.
Step 5 - Promote Videos By Writing Stories
